I'm very sorry to hear about your misfortune. If you're up for starting from scratch, maybe you can post a thread with your plant wishlist, and at least some of the OB Members could help you out with sending divisions?

Sorry to hear about the disaster!

Thing is you don't have to buy a whole bunch.
Just one here and another there.
Or start with some flask. In just a couple of years, you will have plenty!

Very true, NYC. And that is what I will do.

Ula, that is very kind of you. I may have to do that but at this point, I am more than happy to adopt any that other don't want.

I clipped all my catts down to the level of the medium and am going to see if they shoot anything up from the rhizome before I let them go.

Oh crap. I'm so sorry to hear this. Someone else had this happen a month or so ago. It's happening way to much. I have a giant jade plant also. It is pretty much done blooming. The thing is huge so I too could give you some starts, many in fact as I think I many need to cut it back. Also I am starting some cuttings of a hoya plant. It's just a , well what I call a plain old hoya plant.

They are just starting to get roots on them now. I just hated to throw them away. I have enough to do 2 plants and I sure don't want more than one plant. I also started some at the house I was watching my neighbor that just passed away and if no one takes either of them I am going to have way to many.

That's where the mother plant is from.

I will gladly rehome anything people are looking to find homes for. I figure if I end up with duplicates from the generous, I will be able to step up to the plate when something like this happens to others.

Well, out of over 100 orchids I have proof of life in 16 of them. Not sure if any will truly survive, but there is still some healthy looking green on these. I have one of my christmas cactus left, 3 cacti, a piece of my jade looks like it may live, and 2 succulents may survive. Not sure yet on the hoya, all of their leaves are goners but who knows what may happen with the vines. All of my catts are nothing but pots full of roots with no growths showing.

Not as bad as it could have been, but not good either. At least the weather is starting to warm up and I can get the garden plants started. As I keep saying, I will have plenty of room for the starter trays!

I'm surprised none of the catts made it. I had one that got caught in the mail in subzero temps, had damage but pulled through. Glad at least some of your plants survived

I swear life keeps going down hill. Yesterday our little black and white dachshund came up missing. He still isn't home. Thank God it isn't as cold at night.

This is just NOT your year! I hope that you find your puppy soon! A dog is harder to replace than an orchid!

My thoughts are with you!
