I couldn't resist the nice warm weather today, finally above freezing. Wanted to visit a orchid paradise so went to visit Al's orchids, 30 minutes away. He never has a lot of miniatures but he always has nice plants. I bought Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite #2, Oncidium cheirophorum and Dendrobium kingianum! I know, I know, my bad. The two Oncidiums have spikes, Al said the Tsiku Marguerite is pink and the cheirophorum is yellow. The Dendrobium kingianum is white.
I wish Al would sell more miniatures, they are always red tagged, but instant gratification when you need an orchid fix is awesome in its own right. Al even repotted the Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite into a new pot for me! I love visiting there. ---------- Post added at 11:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 PM ---------- Ordphien we think a lot alike, if the astrophora is too big, well...I'll be shopping again. I buy a lot from Andy's and J&L, Seattle seems to have nice minis. I can't wait for the astrophora to arrive. Hope it blooms as well as yours, I just love your lantern. |

Hi, yesterday with some friends of mine went to a little show and sell orcanized in a Garden at 1 hour away. A lot of plants to buy, but so little space left :((
At the end I came home with: Calanthe rubens (the tall deep red flowered one) Rhynchostylis gigantea "spotted" (the Vanda-like) Gastrochilus bellinus (little slab on the Rhyncho pot) and a bery very very big plant-clump of Sarchochilus hartmannii. I cried my heart, but had to refuse buying a HUGE Andraecum eburneum with 2 stems. It was almost 1m (3 feet) large and tall  :_( That's me holding the box with my friend's HUGE plant. |
Wow, those are great ones! Sorry you had to pass up the Angraecum. :(
Despite concerns of shelf-space, there were a few I could not resist: Bulbophyllum ecornutum Bulbophyllum lasiochilum Bulbophyllum baileyi Dendrobium prenticei Dendrobium aberrans Dendrobium normanbyense Epidendrum porpax Maxillaria alba Sievekingia fimbriata |
Literally just a few minutes ago, Angraecum Crestwood 'Tomorrow Star'.......

The Lepanthopsis astrophora arrived today, what a cutie. It is potted in a 1 1/4" tiny pot, the plant is 2" tall. I think it will be fine in my orb for a little while. Not sure when or how I will repot or maybe mount it. Going to give it the night to adjust from shipping. It has several old bloom spikes. How cute!

Honestly, I only went out for some tree fern slab and slatted pots...these two kinda found their way into my car....
