Gosh I forgot what it was like to visit this thread: DANGEROUS. So enabling! This thread makes me feel like I haven't been so bad (read: bad enough) and maybe I should get another although I rewarded myself recently with:

Bullopetalum Blue Midnight 'Cardinal's Roost' (you could say I've been avoiding this plant on ebay as I've seen it A LOT and then finally feeling I deserved the reward, the price was right, two spikes I said what the hey...) - it is smaller than some of my other Zygo hybrids & digging the all dark purple flowers

Cymbidium Snow Court 'White Queen' - expect to see me around the board asking questions as I finally went and did it, got (this) my first Cymbidium

Aliceara Hilo Ablaze 'Hilo Gold' - in spike & showed up with a 2nd surprise short spike! Cross your fingers they bloom. This is one I've been watching for a while

I'll admit that prior to these (not this month, geez, last couple months ) I got:

Ascocenda Merrill Sum Wah
Miltonia Spectabilis 'Royalea' x Seminole Sand (tons of pbulbs & three started spiking though one seems to have stalled , sort of an accidental auction winner this one is)
Catt. Intermedia (they called it color select )
Aerangis fastuosa (a first for me)
Renanthera monachica (another first, I'm branching out...for better or worse...)
Liparis grossa - lots of cute little plumb pbulbs this guy is taking part in my peat moss potting mixture experiment

---------- Post added at 11:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 PM ----------

Oh and I see everyone talking about Mini Purple 'Blue Hawaii', well I got one from Hausermann's last year in a two inch pot and it seems to be of much smaller stature than everyone else's though they said blooming size. Actually now that I'm thinking about it it really needs to be repotted. I'm desperately hoping for some blooms, any tips or info about their blooming? How's everybody else's? Maybe I'll post a thread asking about all of yours!!!

I paid a visit to my local orchid shop, a little slice of heaven here in beautiful Colorado Springs. I got LC. South Esk 'Catherine', RLC. Hysinying Rouge 'C.H.#1', Encyclia cochleata (in bloom), and a NOID cattleya hybrid. The woman there make me sick with happiness lol they are absolutely wonderful and totally understand our obsession with orchids. She ALWAYS gives me a discount everything I buy from her. So I got all of the above for only $32. Ugh I love these ladies. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437246872.747639.jpg

lotis my Blue Hawaii is doing good. Mine was in a little 2 inch pot to but it had roots all going every where. I had to re-pot and it is growing roots and new growths all over the place. No blooms yet but hoping.

I am also re- re-potting my first Cym. long story but Cym lady is helping me. I have to get it done today.

I need to get a Lepanthes telipogoniflora. I have thought about it before but I saw one at the last OS meeting and the craving is pretty bad.

My Blue Hawaii did not bloom on its last pair of growths but it is now exploding with new pseudobulbs. I am guessing that it needed a chance to adjust to the LECA and, now that it is established, it should bloom.
My other Mini Purple was a seedling and in the past ten months, has bloomed twice (first and second times to bloom). Blue Hawaii is said to be a very vigorous one that, once established, blooms easily. So....

I just ordered the Lepanthes telipogoniflora as well as two traveling companions: Cirrhopetalum tingabarinum and yet another Haraella odorata. I plan to grow them all in mini terrariums. Looks like a trip to the Goodwill to find some glassware (with lids) that will fit on the windowsill.
