Lovely! Rare to see in orchid greenhouse (due to size). Impossible to see in normal shops.

My order from First Rays

Dendrobium laevifolium in bloom big surprise and bonus.
Asofinetia Cherry Blossom

Good choices, healthy plants. I got an Aeridovanda from 1st Rays and I love it. I also have a den laevifolium, love those. They bloom for months but they can have a dormant period, so don't think you killed it when it does that. :)

Have you had them long? I am starting threads about them to find out care in there proper sections. I am going to have to do the Den later as I need to get of my arss and do something. It may have another bud coming but I can't tell as this is one strange plant.

They like to stay moist, their roots are rubbery and they grow new bulbs from underneath. I got mine in bloom in Oct. It was in bloom for 5 months. It grew some new leaves, then later most of the leaves yellowed and fell off. It has 2 leaves now and is in some sort of dormancy. It's bulbs and roots are fine, I guess it will have a rest until it reblooms in the fall. Have not owned it long enough to know all, but it an interesting lil guy.

Salpistele brunnea, purchased in the recent NASC auction:

Just got some species Cattleya and Catasetum from Fred Clarke at SVO. And a seedling Angraecum sesquipedale. How could a former bio major not grow that plant?

Admittedly, it isn't an orchid, but I bought a clamp lamp for soon to be arrive lights. Only thing left to find is a scrap 2x4 or something of the sort around campus to mount it onto. :)

EDIT: All this talk about Mote's recently makes me feel like there may be a purchase in the near-ish future... a schomburkia grandiflora and a couple hybrids. The prices are just too tempting.

I want some more of his Catts and maybe some Paphs. Yet I wait I'm having trouble taking care of what I have now.
