We in the Midwest have to keep up
My husband is looking at me sideways as I ordered 3 more orchids after someone on this board mentioned the Vandas at Motes. I could not resist after seeing those beauties and wondering how the seedlings will bloom.

Edit....I just realized, Matt it was you that mentioned Motes lol!!

Wintergirl, when you get your Motes Vanda, it will come bare root. Mine were all healthy with large and long roots. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to pot them. I see a lot of bare root, large, hanging Vanda, but that growing style does not fit in my home. I'm in Fort Wayne, Indiana where Winters are too cold and the air too dry.

As an aside, these are such inexpensive plants they will probably thrive. Whereas, I have foolishly purchased more expensive plants only to see those plants die. So as a rationalization, you are actually saving money by buying from Motes?

Right I thought the price for the plants and shipping very reasonable. I plan to pot mine in chunky bark and a small clay pot. That is how I have all my Vandas. Then I just spray water around the roots every AM. Works really well.

I just picked up two more Angraecum didieri, a Angraecum sesquip., Angraecum distichum and a Paph. delenatii seedling (they are so cute when they are little. I hope it will be a fragrant one). I think I am done for a while.

Got my Vandas from Motes. They were here in 2 days. Nice plants, I put them in clay pots with chunky bark.
I ordered 3 and they sent an extra one (that is not listed on their site right now). So that was nice.

Congratulations! Nice looking plants, potted well! What an unexpected surprise with the extra plant.
