My son lives in the Santa Barbara area. He couldn't get me an affordable plane ticket for the holidays. So, I figure I might as well wait until March to visit and attend the Orchid show.

Is this a big event?

I haven't been, but I believe it's a big event. There's a website, and they have a Facebook page you could check out.

Even if you don't make the show there are two very good orchid nurseries close by, Santa Barbara Orchid Estate and Cal Orchid.

Well worth a visit.
