Smile Happy 4th of July

I had a positively brutal 26 hours on call in the hospital, 6 AM jul 3 to 8 AM jul 4, but it really reminded me how thankful I am to live in this great country, and that we should all pause a little from time to time and reflect on how fortunate we really are.

So today I'm resting and staring at all my beautiful orchids and reflecting on all the above, and I would encourage everyone to do the same. For those in good health, cherish it while you can. For those in bad health, I hope you get the care you need and that you can spend as much quality time as possible with your loved ones. And for everyone, stop and smell your lovely orchids!

Happy 4th!!!

Happy 4th to you too! Thanks for the thread. You are a doc then huh? I am an RN, and just started a new job yesterday. I'm Director of Patient Care Services at Whitman-Walker Clinic here in DC. It's one of the largest public health clinic systems (there are several in the metro area) serving the HIV/AIDS community. It's a huge job and I'm scared to death but also excited. The sad thing is there is NO window in my office for orchids!!! What the %&*#!! is that about?

I just watched the Macy's Fireworks. I could see them from my apartment. They are far away, but they still looked big enough, and the booms were loud enough to enjoy. However, I think the ending lacked punch.

I was able to see the fireworks show coming from Weeki Wachee park, from my lanai! It's great...the park is about a mile or so from me, but when they set off the fireworks, it's like I have a front row seat! So pretty, they had some great stuff

Geez Tind I hate when that happens. Missed the works here last night, but was very impressed with seeing the shuttle go up. It was absolutely amazing, but nothing bets 2 yrs ago, on the dock at Merrit Island, calm waters, night flight, 3-2-1 blast-off over the ICW with and calm waters...phenomenal.
