St. Louis' Inaugural Orchid Seminar
We had the Mid-America Judges in to judge and talk about how they evaluated orchids. For the first time, I took one in just to hear the process. While I was personally in love with the progress my mini took this year (4 bloom spikes, although not all open at once and only had one spike in years before), I also knew it wouldn't win anything. I was merely hoping to give them something to talk about and learn from. Hearing them chat and discuss things was truly amazing.
Then Roy from H&R Nurseries spoke on a few topics. He was an amazing speaker and had a great sense of humor in my opinion. He approached complicated subjects but brought a simplicity to the topics that everyone I spoke to afterwards said they appreciated. Everyone seemed to be truly impressed with him from what I saw!
Although I tried to control myself today, I just couldn't help it. Every free moment my mind had I continued to move my stare to Roy's plants... Walked in saying I would be good and not buy a single thing! To the laughs of everyone there, I walked out with three more. In my mind though, that was being really, really good! LOL!!!
