Red face WOC Widower

As of this writing there are only 35 more days to go till it officially starts, but I am afraid that I shall be an Orchid widower sooner than that and will continue to be one till after a day or so after it ends as well.

You see, my (most wonderful of all wives in the world) sweety works for one of the vendors that will be having a huge booth and putting up a display too, and so they need to get there earlier to set all that up.
I hate this time of year, the Show season, when business (Orchids) takes my wife away from me for long periods of time.
Three days here, a week there, another three days over there with a day off before zipping off to the next that lasts another four or so days.
I have a picture of her that I carry around with me so I don't forget what she looks like during that time ... and I lose a lot of weight too, not because I can't cook for myself but rather because everything is bland without her close and so I hardly bother, just the bare "keep husband alive" kind of thing you know.
And now this one, the longest yet (next to New York a few years ago) is going to be a killer as far as her being gone for long.
She can hardly wait because she will meet old friends again (she adopted grandparents, lol) and just the general excitement because it's, well it's a big shindig thingy is what it is and it's important to her and I am more than thrilled for her that she has the chance to go to this even if it's work.
There are going to be all kinds of neat things there to see and check out, and if I'm lucky, she might even bring me something, you know like maybe one of those "... all I got was this lousy ..." t-shirt, or perhaps a snow globe.
Well, that's my whine for the day off to throttle some thrips.
Hope everyone is having a good one.

That's so sweet!

Your lovely wife is probably very excited about the WOC as it's SUCh a big deal...but I'm sure she misses you too when she's not working her butt off

I think she'll bring something cool home for you

Well she is gone … WAHHH. Dropped her off at the nursery and had to drive home alone, more WAHHH.
Sniff, sniff … I hope that she has a blast and that she meets many of her friends she made from the last shows she worked in Florida and that she makes many more new ones.
Either way it will be an experience not to be forgotten anytime soon I think.
Sadly (or thankfully, all depends on the perspective here) we are also owned by several Parrots that do not allow us to take vacations together (not that we could afford to even if we didn’t have any pets) so I will be having to make sure that the house isn’t burnt to the ground when she gets back home, or any other catastrophe that I can shake my cane at and make go away.
This is not going to be a happy two weeks on the home front … WAHHH, lol.
Hopefully someone will be able to take lots of pictures and perhaps even one of my sweety here and there.
If any of you get a chance to drop by her booth, let her know you’re from the Orchid Board, I’m sure she’d get a kick out of it and you might, juuust might actually find something that tickles your fancy and even buy it.
.
.
.
… and if you were wondering just what booth that might be, I am more than certain that all of you attending the WOC will eventually end up in her booth, you see she works for Andy’s Orchids here in Encinitas CA and has for the last nearly six years and knows her stuff for sure, not only that, she’s pretty to boot.

Thanks for letting me rant and cry a bit here … she’s hardly gone and I miss her terribly already … I swear I am such a sissy, lmao.
