Time to Batten Down the Orchids..Cyclone Ita on its way.
Already a cat 5 cyclone with wind speed to exceed 300km/hr, this time tomorrow my orchids will be safely tucked inside my house (providing my house stays in one piece!)
Landfall is supposed to be around Cooktown but winds in cairns still expected to be significant. The joint typhoon warning centre expects cairns wind speed to still be about 185-235km/hr. I'm hoping that they are wrong and the cyclone goes further inland where it should end up being a rain depression instead. That is what our local bureau is predicting. Either way will no doubt end up with flood rain as well.

Yikes! Even doing it roughly in my head, that converts to some scary mph! Keep your head down and good luck!

Be safe.
I hope your orchids are safe too, but... if you lose a couple, that just makes room for more orchids in your collection, now doesn't it?

Hope you're safe and there will be no casualties in the zone under it, it seems a nasty big one. :-/
