As far as I can tell, I was the first person to ever try the stuff on orchids.
After about a year of research, I found articles about the material online (Kelpak), showing its efficacy on fruits, nuts, grains, turf, - pretty much any food crop you can name - and thought it would be worth a try. It took two years of frequent hassling before th manufacturer would share the name of the US importer.
He happens to own a winery, and uses it on his vines. At fruit set, he sprays the vines, causing the rachis to elongate. He gets better fruit development, but more importantly, it allows more room for the penetration of fungicides, allowing a much better yield.
He and I spent another year negotiating with the manufacturer to allow me to retail it, but they required I use my own trade name, which was obtained via an online contest I originally posted on this forum.
