Anyone growing habenaria radiata?
This is the egret orchid whose flower looks like a flying white bird.
Anyone grow this orchid?

Definitely on my list for this spring. I understand it should do well outdoors year round in my carnivorous bog. I'm getting them from
Hardy terrestrial orchids for perennial gardens

I'm tempted to get the 10 bulb specimen. It would be quite the sight when in bloom later in summer.
Thing is I don't have cold place for them to overwinter. one thing that keeps me from getting it.

No windows? An outdoor window box would work.

I have window where I grow all my plants, but no outdoor haning box. It's all glass building. lol
I could probably keep them in the fridge for the winter, but I wonder if total darkness for months on end will be fine with them. hmmm

I don't see why not. They're deciduous and during the winter anything above ground and getting light is dead.

I grow the radiata in a clay pot in a peat coir mix. After it is deciduous about once a week on a sunny day I drizzle water around the edge of the pot to keep the tuber from totally drying out. The temp is never below 60 degrees.
