Myrmecophilas old pseudobulbs are used as pipes. he was showing me that. Not sure what they smoke there. The Maya might smoke different herbs for ceremonies or tobacco. Hemp does not seem readily available there.

Thanks - I saw so many of those spiders, sometimes part of the web would get on my face... some webs probably were 10 ft wide... saw many near mangrove area south of coconut grove and many in Little Haiti. I still have to edit and categorize all these Florida photos... will post some on stefpix.tumblr.com my photo blog

those spiders were really striking. I wonder what prey they go for with those large and strong webs
