Ok, admit it.....what have you bought lately 2014 edition!!
2013 is over!! Now we are deep into the first month of 2014 and I cannot believe you peeps haven't dabbled in orchid purchasing!!
I am being forced to not attend Tamiami this year (again) by forces of nature stronger than myself. So, in my feeble attempts to console myself, I have made the following purchases thus far in 2014:
Blc. Guess What 'SVO' AM/AOS x Lc. Tropical Pointer Sunset 'Ocean's Heaven' SM/JOGA
Sc. Cosmic Delight 'SVO' HCC/AOS x Slc. Circle of Life 'Trailblazer' AM/AOS.
Encyclia cordigera var. alba
Psychilis krugii
Epidendrum boricuarum
YOU'RE NEXT!!!
p.s. I hope everyone has fat wallets to purchase whatever your little heart desires!

Ebay bids in minis!
I've got roughly 12 hours left on 2 awesome minis. Trias Intermedia, and Chroniochilus virescens. I was just peeking through the Mini orchids pages on ebay, and could not resist their size or their look. Perfect for my little orchidarium. I threw in some photos for reference!

Miltoniosis Renee Komoda and Oncidium twinke 'pink profusion'
I will be adding to that in about two weeks when I get paid. Seems like there is always something creeping into my collection.
Now if I can just keep them happy....

No more until then. It's amazing how one can make room for another orchid, even when they're out of room. Orchid Society meeting this month... Can you believe someone didn't want their mature Dendrobium spectabile?!?!?
I wanted it, like real real bad! So now that's it, no more orchids until Redlands.

Rats I saw one of these and was not sureni wanted it...welp....I want one now.

A Stanhopea jenischiana, although it was really a present to myself this past Christmas. Once it warms up enough outside humidity isn't a problem around here, but I didn't think I could keep a Stanhopea over the winter due to a lack of a greenhouse. But finding one that actually needs to be a bit dry over the winter sealed the deal!

1 out of 2
I got outbid on the Chroniochilus virescens. It really bums me out, but I'll find it again I'm sure! The Trias Intermedia is all mine however. I even found a good piece of wood to mount it on today! Score!

Well.... not so fat wallet, but a couple of small purchases nonetheless.
Masdevallia Cassiope
Masdevallia princeps
I'm still waiting to hear about the princeps, Cassiope is already paid for.
This will have to be the last purchase until April... great sadness

So, the holidays are over and my two older kids went back to college. Sigh. So, to cheer myself up, I was sort of hoping the big box store had some mini phals but, alas, they didn't. So, I went to the OS meeting and....
This little guy is aerangis hyaloides.
