My flowering of a newly purchased species (2014).
Oops, neglected name. Eurychone rothschildiana

Beautiful green/white on that one! I'm not familiar with this species. The leaves are so broad, they almost remind me of staghorn fern leaves.
I'm very familiar with C&H their greenhouse is 1.5hrs from my house.
Here's some info on C. Bonanza Cattleya Bonanza (Bracey)
And 'casecard' is the clonal name according to the seller I bought from, unless I was duped. It was sold as Lc. Bonanza 'casecard' HCC/SFOS

I'll check that clonal name out on Orchids Plus and let you know what turns up.
Eurychone is not offered frequently, at all, but is well worth having.
I have bought some very nice plants from C&H. Always clean, healthy, vigorous, and well grown, both hybrid seedlings and tissue cultured

Hy my friends! This weekend, in Northern Italy (Varese), there was an Orchid Show (and sell )..
I have to admit sellers had mostly commercial than botanic species (75/25%). This facts helps me to spend very few money
I bought a Gasrochilus acutifolius with 2 stems and Holcoglossum kimballianum (will flower next year).

C Bonanza was originally registered in 1949, since then there have been any number of awarded clones. Unfortunately, there is no trace or mention of a clone 'Casecard' HCC/SFOS. Any number of things could happen to a label to cause it to become corrupted. Possibly that is what happened here. Could be change from 'Cascade', but a stretch.

Hi folks!
Returned from Viridalia from northern Italy. This is the haul.
Macropodanthus alatus, has a phal look and beautiful flowers. Smell is very strange, couldn't decide what it is.
Grastidium (Dendrobium) insigne, 70 cm tall, always warm, could flower every period during the year, let's see.
Trichoglottis brachiata. Vanda conditions.
Little Aerangis puncata
Cattleya guttata, the only plant that smelled in the plateau

From iospe. A very important resource for pictorial data.
I'm not familiar with this genus name at all, but the plant and flowers look quite interesting!

They are thumbnail photos. If you click on or tap the thumbnail photo, it will come up as an enlargement. It took me quite a while to discover this, but not to worry, just click on the thumbnail.

I ordered up Masdevallia Erinacea and Platystele Umbellata for my terrarium and my Ada Aurantiaca should arrive some time soonish.
I've had a run of bad luck with masdies. My veitchiana is only alive by the grace of God. This will be the last masdevallia I'll try.
