My daughter has been wanting a Rlc. Golf Green 'Hair Pig' since seeing one at the Tamiami show last year, finally broke down and saved and got one. Double leaded though, (actually breaking a third), so hey two plants for one.
I'll probably break down and buy some of the bag babies I've been watering when I go to Lowes and Home Depot. They're starting to respond so now I feel kind of obligated.

Found a Phal. Surf Song in bloom at the hardware store. I said no more hardware store orchids. I said no more phals, but could not pass it up for 9$!

Had to go to Hausermann's to get some 2" pots, could've ordered them on Amazon, but I didn't need 100. Anyway, they had a bunch of Phal cornu-cervi in bloom so I picked up one that had just opened its first flower and also seems to have a keiki. Was tempted to pick up another bellina, but I managed to resist.

oh my...where to begin to detail my excesses...
I bought a collection of phals and catteleyas - about eight total - from a guy on craigslist who had them in an improvised aquarium (orchidarium) for $20; most of the plants need help, as he did not have adequate ventilation - but for the price I could not pass it up.
also, recently purchased a very healthy flask of paph. maudiae x delenatii v. dunkel that look awesome (mottled) and have a flask of angraecum sesquepidale (Sp?) on the way now...
I was given a huge and awesome grammatophylum that is a beast about a month ago (love it) and five dendrobium spectabile seedlings about two months back. and one psychopsis mendenhall that will not stop blooming.

My cousin and I went to our local town to grocery shop, and walking past a flowershop, I saw a bunch of three-stemmed (some four-stemmed too) Phals for £19.50, which is VERY cheap around here. Unfortunately, I had about zero money after the grocery shopping, so we continued our walk. She bought me an ice cream, and when we had eaten, she excused herself to go to the ATM down the street. But when she returned, she was carrying a laaaaarge gift-wrapped tube, and inside it was this:
World's best cousin!

You do, indeed, have a top-flight cousin. This looks very much like Baldan's Kaleidescope, probably one of the most liked phals in history.
Now, my recent, January, purchase. Laelia purpurata 'Rosa Cereja'.

Thanks for the info! I googled it, and mine looks exactly like it - it's either that, or a hybrid which has Baldan's Kaleidoscope in its lineage. I'll label it Baldan's Kaleidoscope, just because.

That's beautiful! I'm not much of a Cattleya-type fan, but L. Purpurata is one of my favorite orchids. The colors are amazing! Nice buy!
