Thanks! I'm finding I'm really loving Brassia hybrids... I wonder if there are any miniatures...

All the ones I have seen are pretty large, the reason I admire them but can't buy them. A Onc. Twinkle-sized brassia would definitely be a winner for me.

If that's the case, then I will keep it to the two I have. I would love to have more, but really don't have the space.

A Twinkle sized Brassia would be awesome!

Try Brassia aurantiaca. If you want small, you gotta go the species route.

Yes, if you can use google, key in Brassia aurantiaca and select link to iospe. Described as small to medium growing, but flower not "Brassia" appearing. Species always worthwhile!

Brassia aurantiaca is the colorful one. That's why I mentioned it first.

The point being, there are miniature sized, small sized, and medium sized Ada (formerly Brassia) and true Brassia species out there. They are not as colorful as Brassia aurantiaca or Miltassias (Miltonia x Brassia), but they are definitely "spider orchids".

True Brassias or even Adas are generally not as colorful as Miltassias are. They just have the shape, but not the colorful punch to grab people's attention. This is why I've always known about them, but never really pursued the collection of them.

The Miltonias are what gives the Brassia intergeneric hybrids that eye catching splash of color.

Maybe it's not quite the same, but it's gorgeous. Still a fairly big plant, and I even like that the blooms only open partially. Thanks King! Another one for the wish list for sure!!
