I got my first Neo. Its called Neofinetia falcata Hime manjushage

I haven't posted in a while, but... I went to an Orchid Show/Sale today.

I came home with some stuff. I had to make my hubby give me cash so that I could stay on budget, and when I hit the end of what was on my wish list that was available at the orchid show, I still had 20$ left, so I'm feeling pretty good about it!!!

Anyway... here are the new 'chids!

I've wanted a Twinkle for a while. The buds were dying back on this one, so they'd marked it down to 7$. I was thrilled. I've seen these go for 30$+ on the internet and it still has a few flowers for me to enjoy and the smell... oh the smell. They need to bottle and sell this as a designer perfume. Every orchid collection needs one of these!

Phalaenopsis Yushan Little Amar. I know the flowers are dying back, but the roots look excellent.

And... the one orchid that I came home with that I'm not entirely sure I should have bought. Yes, this thing has a foot and a half long spike, and that black pot in the background, is this plant's temporary pot. It will keep my dogs from accidentally knocking it over with their tails. :D

My photo doesn't do the colors on this one justice. I'll try to get a better shot and I believe this bloom should open up just a bit more.

I picked up a Vanda for $9 at a local orchid sale run by some growers who do the farmers' market circle around here. It's not in bloom, and I'm not sure what the other cross is with this.

The tag says Ascda. Chomkao x. Ascda (something I can't quite make out). There was a picture that was posted on it before I bought it but it didn't come home with me. I'm attempting to figure it out but having little luck so far. It will be a nice flower once it does indeed flower at some point. Plant appears to be mature.

Our HOS will have its spring sale in April so I better hold off till I see what is available. But, have no fear, I have contributed to the endeavor too.

Thanks! I've wanted an orange phal for a while, but I was hoping I would find a mini. They just take up less space! :D

I've read reports that this one has an orange scent too, but I don't smell anything yet.

This year must be the year of the Neo.s I have seem more and more ppl including myself getting slow of Neo.s.

The one I wanted got away - a semi-alba C. mossiae that was in bud Oh well, try try again...
