It's been crazy. I live in an apartment and I have to take the dogs out. Needless to say, they haven't been pooping outside. It's just too damn colder for them. High was -2 on Monday and 2 on Tuesday. Poor girls couldn't even walk for more than two minutes before having to have me carry them.

A friend of mine has a dog that's in a wheel chair. She trained her to use a potty pad. You might check and see if an area animal shelter can get any to you if you are trapped in your apartment. I have family in Indianapolis and I know central IN is pretty much closed right now, due to the temps and the snow. If you are able to get out to Petsmart or even Walmart, they carry these and they are easy to train your dogs to and will save you and your dogs some stress.
If you have small dogs, you might have to keep these in your house, some breeds, once they get used to the pee pads, won't go outdoors again... like Dachshunds.

Nope, pads won't work. They both us them as toys. Both are potty trained but due to the extreme cold (wind chill was -33 Monday night) just didn't have enough time to poop outside. We didn't get near the amount of snow so it wasn't bad.

LOL! Gotta love dogs! My labs would use them as toys too.

Has warmed up around here. It did get cold and we had some bad windchill's but thankfully it didn't last that long. Not sure about all of Montana I have a sister that lives in the eastern part they get cold but don't have the windchill's that we do.
There main problem is ice, they get ice covering the ground and then it just stays. It makes it very hard on there cows because they have a very hard time walking on it. They slip and slide and can fall and hurt themselves.
Where it really gets cold is up in the Northern part of Montana it really gets cold up there.

mm, where I was born, minimum temps were 0/1°C, very very rare -1°C or -2°C (30°F).
Now, where I live it gets down to -10°C (14°F) for some weeks, but reading your experience, I won't complain anymore!!!

Seattle had its issues back in December - it got down to the teens F - which is sort of unheard of - that is like getting to 100 degrees here.
Yesterday was about 50 - but you saw the Seahawks win in that storm, so its not great weather here - but its certainly not awful cold - thank goodness. Just dark and nasty all the time.

Looks like it'll be warming up to the 30s and 40s here over the coming week. All those days with sub-zero temperatures and bitter wind chills (-40F below!) are starting to get real old. We've had a record number of those (20+) so far this winter. Where I grew up Downunder they're facing record high temperatures.
Stay warm everyone! (or cool if you're in the Southern hemisphere)

I thought the winter was mild until January when freezing spell and snow storm hit. lol
This is normal for winter though.
Well, snowing a lot again today after having lots last week and this Thursday.
I read that the city spends about million dollars for every inch of snow removal. We have already got quite a few inches. lol
What an expensive weather, isn't it?

and here in Northern NJ we have had snow for the last 3 days totally over 24 inches. the snow is piled so high you cannot see around street intersections. So we have all this snow and when it melts we will have significant flooding.
Our friends in the UK are suffering awful floods. It just seems to be bad everywhere right now. I for one cannot wait until spring!
