I don't have a fancy phone just a track phone so I can't look things up anyway. I'm just thinking of doing it in a folder. I know I'm old fashioned.

Index cards and a recipe box!! You can organize them by genus and then species or hybrid!

I tend to misplace books and small cards easily. That is why I put stuff on my computer or IPad. I don't misplace them as often.

I have kept similar records for many years. It's a great way to track your collection.

As a Mac person and one who used filemaker pro many years ago, I thought I'd look into Bento, but found that it is defunct.

Important information for Bento customers
FileMaker stopped offering Bento on September 30, 2013
FileMaker no longer offers the Bento consumer products.
We will provide technical support for Bento products through July 30, 2014.
We thank you for your support of Bento.
This change was part of an increased focus on the FileMaker Product Line. Thanks to the ease of creating iPad and iPhone solutions, our customers' use of FileMaker on iOS has grown rapidly. Our increased focus will create an even better experience for these customers.
FileMaker Pro will be appropriate for certain users of Bento for Mac. We encourage Bento for Mac customers to visit our "Is FileMaker Pro Right For You?" page to understand the differences between Bento and FileMaker Pro and to download a free trial of FileMaker Pro.
Read the Knowledge Base answer for more information on the Bento transition.

I used to use Excel, something very similar to you and it worked well for a few years, but then got to be too big of an overhead for the number of orchids I have.
I now use a MSSQL database but the work to write a front end (windows) has only ever got as far as the very basic I need. I once thought I might do an Android version but never had the time.

I'll be working on one and I guess RandomGemini's husband will be too. I need to finish a few other things first though.

I don't know if he will actually do it or not, but I have discussed it with him. I hope he will.
