new owner @ OZ
Pleased to let you know that OZ is once more in U.S. ownership.
The asian investor decided to sell after just a couple months of long distance operations. Dr. John Chance is the new owner and is in the process of transitioning himself to the fine California weather.
Welcome to the Golden State!!
I have been told I may have misspelled the name, it may be John Chant. No matter the spelling, Gov Brown is happy to have you here, your tax dollars at work.

Well here is hoping he maintains the excellent quality of plants we have come to expect from Orchid Zone.

new owner for OZ
I haven't heard of any for root, probably got an offer he couldn't refuse, I understand the asian owner put a family member over here who knew nothing of orchids, so discretion said, sell so he did. I do understand that I may have the new ownrpers name spelled wrong. I was asked if it could be john chant, that is possible, I was having a conversation not taking notes. At least it will be operated by someone who knows orchids and will maintain the same quality that we know and appreciate, and maybe sell a few more to the public.

It would be nice if he would sell to the public and not restrict it to wholesale.

I bought three slippers from OZ when they came to NYC in February.
Many many eye candies, but hefty price tags!
At least all were in bloom, so it was fair deal.
I went nuts to say the least. lol

Last week OZ had at least 4 plants for bid on ebay. I got one but a quickie at the end got the others I bid on. All were in bloom. Beautiful plants. Don't know if that was new owners choice, the timing would be right. Only can wait and see, and hope!!!

They list under OZ, I think they know when you learn that the plants are direct from them the bidding will go up.
If you are referring to the frank smith (roth x hasagawa), it went for $76 +shipping, but that was for two different clones, one single growth and one multiple, both in flower. All the bid prices seemed reasonable for very good quality OZ plants.
Apparently there is a shipping charge of $15 on each plant, nothing listed for multiple plant shipping. Maybe that is in the future.
