Minus 15 degrees C
Is this what they mean by "cool growing" orchids? That's what it's proposed for my area tonight (colder over east).

Tell me about it Ross! My scarf, hat, and gloves seem to have disappeared since last season and it's sooo cold and snowy! The roads were nice and icy and snow covered on my way to work this morning. It's starting!!!

That probably works for native orchids that are linked to your weather patterns. I guess "cool" depends on your local definitions. Cool in Florida is about 50F.....or is that cold?

Too cold, Ross!! I think the key part of the 'cool growing orchids' is the "growing" part! You'd probably struggle to fine anything "growing" in cold like that!
The overnight lows here at the moment are around 8 or 9C this weekend. Next week, they are forecast to be 11C.
Hope you keep nice and warm!

we've only been down to -3 C this winter
thanks to global warming Finland will soon be one of the prime orchid growing areas on the planet..

Finn, Thank goodness for that Gulf Stream!! If it weren't for that, we'd be in frozen tundra! Probably kinda like Ross is feeling now....

5F when we got up this AM (That's about -15C) Only good thing is that our natural gas bill is paid up and it's too cold to snow.
