Good taste in orchids!
I just wanted to share this story with some fellow orchid lovers; I figured if there were people who would appreciate this story it would be you all!
I was watering my vanda compots this morning and my two year old was helping. She pointed and said, "orchids". I told her she was right. Then she promptly replied, "mine" and pointed to the compot of Vanda javierae (of course my most expensive seedlings). I asked her which one was hers, I thought she may have taken a liking to one particular plant in the compot. She looked irritated by me and responded, "the green ones"!! Lol!
I had to do some hard negotiating to only release two plants in that compot (one for her and one for her sister). Somehow her collection gets bigger and mine get smaller! She "writes" her name on the orchids she likes from my collection, closing the deal. Don't you wish we could do that! Imagine going to a greenhouse, writing your name on a plant and poof, it's yours. Ahhh, to be two!
