Kids do really grow up fast. I have two in college, now, and one is in High School. The plan is for the orchids to keep me entertained when the last one goes off to college.

Thank you! I was never interested in plants growing up, even though my mom had a ton. I bought one noid while grocery shopping and it was all downhill from there! So who knows, maybe one or all of your kids might take an interest later on. When I was a teen, I lived for clothes, shoes and makeup, now I'd rather buy an orchid! Lol!
I think it's great that you have a fulfilling hobby once your kids are all in college. I decided to keep my orchid hobby even while my kids are young because I stopped working to raise them, but I need to be something other then a mom, wife and homemaker. Orchid growing makes me think and troubleshoot scientific problems, I get to do research plants and this hobby allows me to interact with smart and interesting people. Orchid growing keeps me sane!
