What are other societies doing?

I just thought that I would ask that question. I will also let you know what we do as a society for our members to help keep it interesting. Over the years, we have had a contest within the society called the "Triple Crown." As a society, we buy some seedlings-3 to be exact, for each participant, hence, the name "Triple Crown." The first to bloom 1 plant gets $25. If you are the first to bloom 2 plants, you get $50, and if by some stroke of luck or genius on your part, you bloom all 3 before anyone else, you get $100. These plants are always different types and everyone gets the same plants. I hope that this is not in the wrong place, but I just was not sure where to put it.
