What? Are you saying another person PM'd you and critiqued you for your pix? Maybe that person was just teasing you? It is sometimes hard to tell if a person is just yanking your chain or are themselves plain malicious. I hope it is the former and not the latter. Whomever it was, that is so rare you find mean people who are also into orchids. Mean and rude duplicate bridge players, not unusual.

I don't really have any pictures of me by myself, so I just snapped this one. I've been a bit under the weather the last few weeks, so it's me all natural with no makeup. I'm not sure why it's posting upside down, I guess if you want a really good look at it you'll have to stand on your head.

RJ, I love your picture and your guitars! And I think it is sad that someone would go out of their way to make a negative comment about your picture; it says a lot about that person. It's NEVER ok to try to make someone feel small!

That's me in my element. The background is our scanning electron microscope with a couple of pictures of Oberonia flowers pulled up. Two O. rufilabris hang off the upper aperture centering micrometer screws.

Photo was taken by Chuck Place of Santa Barbara for some magazine article on local (SB) orchid people.

Center back image on the wall is from my day job as researcher on systematics and evolution of marine snails.
