Orchidshow at Lund bothanical garden , Sweden
This weekend i traveled to the south of Sweden and here are some pictures from the show.
Lund Bothanical garden show 2013 - a set on Flickr
(I hope that some day it would be possible to transfere scent with pictures, because for the first time in my life i had the fortune to draw a deep breath near a flowering Stanhopea graveolens, and i nearly fainted in surprice of the foul smell from this beautyfull orchid )

Wow, what a great show, and beautiful photos!
I especially like the display with many different species all together. The plants and flowers are soooo impressive when you can see all the variety!! I would have been standing there for a while!

It is a small show with only four vendors, but we managed to spend over six hours there just the same.
This was the only show this year and hopefully there will be a few more next year, because it is a highlight to go there

That bad? I recently decided I HAD to have a stanhopea and the graveolens was the only one I could get hold of... At least I'm now warned and do not need to look any further if the greenhouse starts stinking.

I did stick my nose as close to the flowers as i could, and because they where so many i really got my share of the fumes
It is not advaisable to do that near this one.

I've kept my distance to bulbos up to now, mainly because of the stinkiness, but with a foul smelling graveolens I guess I can just dive into that weird and wonderful (?) world as well.

But you only had one picture of a Neofinetia falcata! Next time you see such a gorgeously blooming Neofinetia, you must take more photos of it. Forget the rest of those other orchids....LOL. Thank you for sharing these lovely plants. You are an excellent photographer!
