Default The future of information

I was watching TV with my little boy yesterday and I saw the neatest thing advertised.

It's a writing pen that has some type of computer chip in it. It records whatever you write in long hand, stores it, and then transfers it from long hand to text on a traditional computer.

Of course, immediately I began to think of uses for it in connection with my orchids. Like when I'm working in the greenhouse, and need to jot down information. During flasking, when I am making notes. Walking around looking at plants at orchid shows, and wanting to remember information. Orchid meetings, when I need to review information or make notes. The list just went on and on!

So I am curious to know, does anyone have one of these pens currently? If you do, what are your feelings about it? How well does it work for you?
Cause I think I want one really bad! lol

I tried out one a couple years ago and at that time the technology was pretty new. It needed a special paper with micro dots, stored the captured writing as a graphic file (un-editable) and was cumbersome. I imagine nowadays the technology may have improved.

That's it! I'm going for the coffee table, forget the pen. Yes Marty, that's the pen I tried and it's cludgy at best.

My wife did though especially when I suggested one day we can do away with 4 or 5 remotes and just have the coffee table! That sold her
