I took it as being a bit odd as a comment; after all, there is no privacy in online posts. Everyone sees what is posted and quite a number of us belong to both forums. If it wasn't an attempt at a joke...how sad. Attacking someone or another forum is...depressing.
I read the other thread and saw so much negativity toward our geek site. And then, a while ago, rvorchidtalk was being bashed. There are several other Orchid forum sites that I have come across while searching for information. Having such a variety of resources is absolutely amazing! When I first started orchid growing, there wasn't any information online. I had only a book from the library that said 'tree fern fiber' 'osmada (or whatever it is)' and 'greenhouse', as in, orchids required a greenhouse. So, I had to wing it. It is a miracle I still have my first two orchids. Now, there is a wonderful wealth of information thanks to all the forums and some really awesome orchid societies. I think that instead of attacking other sites, we should be very grateful they are all out there. I know I am. I really love both orchid forums.
PS. If anyone still wants to join our orchid project, it is open to everyone! We have three orchids involved:
phal stuartiana
vanda coerulea
paph delenatii
It is meant as a fun learning experience.

I've locked the other thread regarding OG, as the posts have become personal. I am watching this one as well.
Any personal issues anyone has with anybody else should be taken elsewhere!

I tried logging onto Orchid Geeks and I am still unable to get on, the list of sub-forums is up, but individual threads still clock. I really do miss OG, especially the 2013 Grow Project that Leafmite admins(?). Any body get any more status updates on the progress technicians are making towards full functionality?

Oh my goodness - brn_thmbs, you're dbroome??? Hey, how's it goin'?? I rescind my suggestion that you fly to Australia - I want you to stay home and take care of those Brassavola babies you bought from me! I want you to be a stay at home orchid dad! Good to see you here!

Sometimes computers don't behave as they should when installing software.

Leafmite, is that what's goin' on?? Dang, I feel a bit paranoid here, like "Did the DNS cops get 'em? (whoever the DNS cops are . . . ) Did the server and all surrounding real estate catch fire???" I sound like I have no life outside of OG - I actually do - just really curious at this point!!
