My Mothers Day phal is in bloom again
This was a gift from my kids last Mother's Day. Just a simple pale pink mini, with a strikingly colorful lip. The original flowers lasted until September, and after they fell I repotted it (into a clay pot that my daughter decorated) and placed it in a brighter, warmer spot for the winter. The current spike started some time in January, and it took forever to grow to full size. The kids were beginning to think it would never flower, but the first bloom opened up about 3 weeks ago, and by now it's looking glorious.
Sometimes a simple NOID is more precious than the rarest species.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on the Orchid Board!
