In Walmart this PM, garden area, and lo and behold some Phals dyed, get this, GREEN. I suppose it is to honor St. Patrick's day. If the blue ones were ugly, you should see these green ones. I took a couple of pics with my phone camera but will have to ask DH how to get them onto the computer-that is if anyone really wants to see these things.

I wouldn't mind a light green Phal, but something tells me that isn't the case ...

Hopefully, like all gimmicks, this too shall pass. Even more distressing is hearing the sales assistant trying to promote these colours as the real thing to unsuspecting buyers. Shameful

People believe the color is real?

Everyone I met know they are dyed.

What's most amusing to me about the rainbow of colors that's in the stores is that phals come in most of those colors anyhow.
As it is I have every color in the rainbow aside from bright red and blue in my pal collection.
Unless you count my "blue" phal. Which is the same exact shade as their dyed purple ones.
And I got them from the store across the street from the one with the dyed ones.

I didn't take a picture of my stores display... which is pretty r ridiculous.
But I did find this photo on the internet showing a few of the dyed colours that are out there.

I saw them at my walmart, too! I have to admit, they make good gifts. Many like that they are dyed for the holiday and then, next bloom brings beautiful white flowers, even better. I wouldn't want one, though.

They do make good gifts.
And side from the bad store care and the dyed part they are actually beautiful phals.
Which ever one they clone to make these is actually a decent phal.
It's my favorite white pal that I own.
