Physan is on Amazon here in the US. Does that work for you in Canada?

Have you tried your local nurseries or Home Depot? That's where I got mine. It might be easier to get it from there than importing it to Canada. Are there restrictions on Physan up there?

You can't buy Physan in Canada and not a hope of it being in Home Depot or anywhere. I ordered some from Quarter Acre Orchids along with a large pot order but I can't say if it is the cheapest.

And to reiterate, Physan is actually banned in Canada, so is systematic 3-1 and some other common gardening supplies commonly available in US.
I'm surprised it actually made it all the way from the US vendor to the Canadian customer across the borders.
Now... what do we use here instead?

Is is "banned", or simply not registered for sale?
When the MSU fertilizer formulations were released, they were not salable in Canada because Agriculture Canada was "protecting" the farmers in the country. Once the fees (about $600-$700 per formula or dilution) were paid, it was OK.
Some vendors simply don't want to go through the hassle and expense of getting a product registered.

Someone I know was just told at our local farm and garden centre that Neem oil is now off the shelves because it is used as a pesticide. Good grief! I am going to have to stock up on whatever I can get my hands on I don't know if it is Canada wide but I can't see them pulling it and losing sales if it isn't. I did inquire about the Physan a year or two ago and it has been de-regulated I believe was the terminology. I don't know if it is illegal to bring in from the U.S. but definitely not allowed on shelves here. I ordered it with a large shipment of clear plastic pots hoping it would slip thru and it did and she had listed it clearly on the shipping list so it may still be allowed across legally. I'm tempted to get lots and store in the fridge!
The only other options I know of are things like hydrogen peroxide, brown Listerine, garden sulfur and very benign stuff like that.

I would be concerned as to why its "banned" - is it safe to use indoors ? does product break down into harmless constituents? and whether there is a recommended alternative product. I use it and now I am having second thoughts.
Canada must be using something in its place - we get wonderful tomatoes from Canada and those greenhouses must be using something.
BTW - Google search indicates it breaks down within 50hrs and it is safe. But is Ray correct in his point or do the Canadians really regard this as unsafe ?

I don't know the entire history, but I believe it was available until a few years ago and then pulled. Canada seems to be very conservative in banning or de-regulating anything used for pesticide. You can't buy much or any weed n feed fertilizer anymore and many bug sprays that are commonly available across the border in places like Home Depot are no longer found here. It's likely healthier in the long run, but the earth will be over run with dandelions and nasty critters very soon. Or at least Canada will
It's a bit frustrating trying to be a gardener and keep a nice lawn and yard, never mind grow orchids!
