Stapelia Gigantea, so called for the giant flower. It is in a group of succulent plants called "starfish flowers". Your plant, if grown outdoors, will attract blowflies because the aroma it puts out smells like carrion.

From what I've read, the one Gin has which is red is Stapelia grandiflora, not gigantea. The gigantea is a lighter color with red markings.

They're both considered carrion flowers...what an oxy-moron that is!

I have one to that I've repoted twice trying to get the potting mix and pot size right. Here in Florida cactus and certain succulents do not do well because of the rain...
