So, I had to replace a light ballast that went out. Seems like they go out about every two years and in still trying to figure out why. But anyway, so I went to Home Depot and realized I liked Lowe's brands better. So I did my obligatory walk through their orchids and they had Oncidiums!!! Oh, I soooo wanted one if them because it reminded me of bees!

But I was a good boy and walked away, lol...

So then at Lowes, I also did my obligatory walk through their orchids and they had some awesome mini Phals!!! But I still walked away...

So I grabbed replacement bulbs and a new lighting fixture, got to the check out, and the lady pulled this Dendrobium out of my cart to run the bar code!!! I looked at her and said, "How'd that get in there!!!!!" I dot think she believed me, lol... She made me pay or it although I swear I didn't put it in my cart!!!!!

Wow. Sneaky orchids! I have encountered those too. You have to watch 'em every minute or they take you by surprise. Just call 'em Ninja orchids.

I'm not using T8 fixtures anymore but I noticed too what you've noticed. The ones available do not last. The older ones I had seemed to last forever. I have a couple of older ones (I think) in the garage if you want them. They're still in the boxes though they've been used a couple times.
