Name dropping!
Last night I spoke to Gene Cernan, the last man on the moon! My son is at an astronaut convention in London and at the welcome party he rang me and asked Gene Cernan if he would speak to me, and he said Hi Mom how are you! I was tonguetied! (There's a first!) and just managed to stammer something back. But how cool is that? After the seminar today Rob gets to have dinner with them. Judi

Wow, Judi! Definitely cool!
A cool fact: I was born two minutes after Neil Armstrong put the first step on the moon.

Astronomy is another one of my hobbies, I to would been tongue tied if I would to meet someone who has walked on the moon. What brought your son to the convention, is he into astronomy. What make this even more interesting is they are going back to moon in the near future. Way Cool!!!

Thats' trippy Judi!
Did you ask him if he was into orchids?
You had to know someone was gonna ask that
If I had the chance to go to the moon, and I could bring 2 things ... I would bring a beer & a orchid

No my son is not an astronaut, he paid to go to the weekend, but he regularly works with the Canadian space agency as an amateur and is the leading light of astronomy on the Outer Hebrides. He got into it thro me as I have always had an interest and infected both sons! They both went to university to do physics with 1 astronomy and 2 space science. I always thought I would be able to speak to anyone, so it came as rather a schock to find myself starstruck!
