I can't make a decision ...so I'm posting a poll :)
I asked my wonderful mother-in-law to embroider a new shirt for me to wear to the World Orchid Conference in January.
There are SO many astounding designs to choose from...of course, I want them ALL!
The background will be any color shirt of our choosing, don't pay attention to the blah background shown in the pics. If you choose to vote in the poll, it would be great if you could leave a reply suggesting a background color for it but you don't have to if you don't want to
I've narrowed it down to my two favorites and now the decision is up to my friends here at Orchidboard

I like the basket of orchids .. although the container should be a color to contrast off the other orchids .. like black ..
or perhaps no container at all ..
Either would look nice on a hat

LOL...I forgot to mention that they are either going to be:
6.8 inches x 3.9 inches or
9.4 x 5.4
I'd need a very large head for the hat either of them would fit on!
Thanks, D

My favorite would be the first picture. Not sure what color of background to use, but of course it would need to be light to offset the lettering and orchids.

Both are really really pretty!! I love them both, but I think I'd like the one that says Orchids better if the word itself was in a different colour....I'm leaning towards the one in the basket because the colours and shapes are so beautiful....as far as a background goes...something neutral shows off the colours nicely....JMO Either way, both are awesome, look forward to seeing a pic of the final product....
Orrr....u could ask her really nicely to make one of each!!!

I voted for #1. I like the wording but would change the color of the letters to dark blue, and put it on a yellow or terracotta background. Yellow and blue are classic color combinations (I've made a couple of quilts in those colors and they're stunning together), and blue and orange are complementary colors so that would work also. Or, reverse the above suggestion and use a blue shirt with yellow or orange lettering.

I like the second with the basket of orchids but not with the purple background maybe black like some of our members have sugjested and maybe you could write orchids underneath the basket .

I like the basket of orchids, great mix variety of your passion. I like yellows and pinks, so with that a perfect background. With choosing yellow or pink as a shirt color, a slight rearrangement of the flowers are in order to accent the tone.
So lets say you don't like yellow or pink and prefer soft beige to a rust tone colored shirt, now thats the ticket with a slight rearrangement of the laelia bottom left.
The purple basket softer purple would offset the other purple orchids...just my 2 cents worth.
OK OK wording won...definite color change for the word "orchids"...with a cute tiny orchid of choice in front

The designs are computer generated and can't be moved around. I also don't want to change the colors of what the bloooms should be so...
I'm thinking the first pic, with the wording in light blue on a darker blue shirt. That way everything would stand out

I can have the lettering done in any color we want
She's really a great lady and would make me 6 if I wanted them. There are many other individual orchids to choose from too..maybe I should post some of them and see what happens
