While the internet may be an amazing resource for the orchid grower, we firmly believe that a serious grower should have a pretty good library, as well. Ours is fairly expansive, ranging from very simple and general, to highly specific, detailed and complex. That includes picture books, as they have helped with our photography.
First Rays is a reseller of books from several publishers - Meredith, Storey, Timber Press and Wiley at the moment (we can always add more). We stock a few of the more basic, instructive books that are of general interest (Click

Our pricing policy is simple: Our price to you is our delivered cost, usually rounded to the nearest dollar, for convenience. That will typically result in a 20% to 50% discount from the suggested retail price.
Go to your library. Go to a bookstore. Search online. If there is a book you want, let us know. You may lead us to stock it, or maybe we'll just order you a copy.
This doesn't apply only to orchid books, by the way. I just got a few books on Italy (40% off) in preparation for a vacation there this Fall.
