Oh Hail, Lost everything
Last night in Colorado, a boundary was set up where the storms grew and grew and didn't move. It hailed very hard to two hours and in the end we were left with over a foot of hail on the ground. My trees stripped bare, my beloved garden destroyed. I lost my orchids outside. It was so bad I couldn't even tell which shredded part belonged to who. I was at work when it all happened and my wide rightfully focused on my daughter and dog and hid in the basement as a tornado was less than a mile away.
To be clear, thank God Almighty my family is ok, and tho I don't know what my house has to deal with in terms of damage, I'm heartbroken over my garden and the loss of my orchids. The only thing I could find is the tough as nail max.
Hug your orchids today, guys.

You may not be able to tell but in the second pic there are trees, stripped bare and hail still on the ground. 6 inches in some places and this is some 12 hours after the storm.
Deep cleansing breaths.

Ryan, why don't you post a list of the plants you lost? You might get some of your collection back

So sorry to hear this. Mother nature can be cruel, but thankfully your family is safe. It would be heart breaking about the garden and chids tho.

Ahhh man. That sucks, and yet that is great news for you and your family. Very glad to hear all well on the family front. Hopefully with a little time you can find some replacements for the orchids! Time to make a list of replacements so we can all pitch in!

oh wow - that's awful - I remember seeing last night on FB a friend who was in the area for work posting about the hail, and another who lives in the area (also an OB member) posting about the tornado warnings. I hope everyone is safe. I'm so happy to know that you and your family are safe, and I hope your house is too.
When you are ready - let us know - and I'm sure many members will be happy to share orchids with you. I have seen it before - something happens - nature, or power issues causing green houses to bake or freeze - and OBers have jumped in to help with the orchid collection rebuilding. Let us know what you like, or if there are specific plants you are especially looking to replace - I'm sure everyone will see what they can do.
Hug your family - orchids are replaceable
