I was watering a Gongora in a basket yesterday and flushed this cute lil feller out.

what a pretty bug..we call them cicada here I think but they arent so colorful and make one heck of a ruckus. I dont think they bother orchids do they? I hear em all the time lately but they sure hard to catch.. nice bug!!!

Yes it does look like a cicada. The ones you get here don't have stunning colours like this one.
I would not have thought they are harmful to orchids? Thanks for posting!
