Default Explain postage, please...

It annoys me to the core when I go to buy something you get to the checkout and it says 'don't post to the Scottish islands' or 'don't post to Scottish highlands'. OK, two things here; I'm on the opposite side of the country to the 'Scottish islands' and I'm miles from the 'Scottish highlands'. If the vendor was travelling here in person there could be some, albeit pathetic excuse, for not coming here but the buyer is paying the courier etc to bring it here on behalf of the vendor. If they don't want to post things here just bloody well say so and stop wasting my time by having to put up with ignorant twits. Don't want my money? Fine.

Rant done.

Sorry, not quite done - some of these twits have posted me items before!

Done now.

are you part of the "UK" for post purposes ? I noticed on Amazon.co.uk that vendors are saying UK post only. I have in the past bought for delivery into the USA ( not orchids ), but they seem to have stopped that. Some things - CDs, pet medicine are much cheaper in the UK !

I certainly am part of the UK! I can't see any justification for not posting to certain parts of the mainland unless it's a live plant that may suffer in any prolonged delivery. I wanted a large tree fern but was told the postage would be too much - I gently pointed out that it was up to me to judge what was too much to pay for delivery! lol I didn't buy it in the end. It was the same with a banana plant I wanted, "We can't guarantee delivery"....WHY?????? LOL It didn't have to board a flight or need phyto etc., just post the damn thing and let me worry about the cost. If I want it I'll pay for it!
