Default The Invasion of the Orchids

In a flat far from you...

Well, it depends on where you live I suppose.

The invasion has begun! It started today with my order from Orchideen Lucke consisting of a Phal. Braquestris 'Melmi' and a Phal. Sweety Sigrid 'Tainan'. So I was rather surprised to have a NoID phal in the order as well, a little bonus plant mayhaps? They all seem to have taken the shipping rather well, but I can't tell for sure until I've had them for a while. The 'Melmi' had the most impressive root system I've ever seen - the roots were thin, but what it lacked in size it made up for in amount! Also the 'Melmis' has a basal keiki the size of the motherplant, and the mom has two spikes. I'll see if it'll abort them or not. The unknown Phal looks very healthy and young, I don't know when it might bloom so I can see what it might be, but I really look forward to it! The Sweety Sigrid is adorable! It's much darker than my similar NoID (this guy will move to my sister's) but I don't think the blooms will last that long, but hopefully the spike will survive.

Here they are:

Lucke has great orchids, and I also got a bonus plant when I ordered (but it was named! - Phal deliciosa) I also have a 'Melmi', but from a different grower. Lucky you that it has spikes, I'm still waiting for mine to decide to spike.

Not only that, they are good at packing the orchids too, which is lucky since DHL had let an elephant jump on the package for a bit.

I've emailed Orchideen Lucke and told them that the plants have arrived and that they look fine, I also asked for the ID of the mystery phal, it could be that the tag fell off when they packed it.

I hope the spikes will survive on my 'Melmi'!

They're going to have a lot of packages to check out the rest of the week.
