Your photos are great, and so bright and cheerful. I am trying to get a Milt. spectabilis var 'Moreliana" too but don't have one yet. so I might unofficially join as well, if I ever get my hands on one!
The orchid fair was the weekend before last. Smaller than last year actually. I think Dublin is just too small to attract the vendors. Hubby and I spent most of our time wondering around the botanic gardens and playing with our new camera. I'm still getting to grips with the DSLR. All-in-all, we had a great day. Here's a few pics:
Sorry, was too busy messing with the camera to get names! Oh, I came home with Den victoria-regina and Masd veitchiana.
Thanks Rosie! Hubby took the picture of the third one. That was an orchid society member's plant and the bloom was massive - possibly more than 15cm across.
I like the brassia just because it looks like a little man throwing his arms in the air and having a good time.
3rd is an RLC Golf Green 'Hair Pig'- very cool plant! I've seen it in person, and it is now high on the want list. My daughter thought it was funny too (orchid having a bad hair day) and wants me to get one.
I love the last three shots.
I have easy access to lots of flower shops here but if I had more vendors or even frequent shows, oh, no, you don't even want to think about it.
