Great Orchid Haul Today!
Hello all,
Boy-o, Diane, my husband, Danny and I had a great day at work today!
Our jobs are really stressful day in and day out. We work hard, fast & try to work smart. And we really try to create a happy environment everyday but somedays you've just gotta take a break! Luckily, our boss knows this.
She very kindly allowed us to take a long 2-1/2 hr lunch, to go play at Fantasy Orchids. All she asked is that we show her the orchids we brought back with us! Yahhooooo! SCORE!
I'll let Diane post her pics. . .she got two big beauties!
I bought four small ones:
A blooming sized Phal. violacea var. coerulea!
A blooming sized Neofinetia falcata!
A very small starting of Encyclia tampensis (species)
And a Paph. Hsinying Majukun x Paph. lawrenceanum that has TWO buds!
Pictures to be added in just a few minutes! Be right back.

Once we got back to work, it became clear that we do not have enough space for our growing orchid collections! Diane is hogging my window space and Danny won't let us cross into the bonsai window territory in his domain.
So happy "compromise" Danny is building two plant racks for Diane and I. Yeah! So we're moving on up!
He started on them tonight, so I'll post pictures when the racks are complete!

I am going to rely on Gwen's expertise on the pixs. We were like 2 kids in a candy store, or should I say 2 'ckids in a greenhouse.
After Gwen's husband builds the shelves, Gwen will take pixs for show & tell.
We also seem to be bringing our other 2 co-workers over to the orchid side. We will have to work a little harder on them.
Needless to say, we had a great day at "work" yesterday.

Great haul! Wished I could get that type of plant locally - so much for a hick town
Here's my Encyclia tampensis to show what you have to look forward to (I have three this size)
They seem to prefer mounts rather than pots and take real well to slabs of oak bark.

VERY fragrant. Spring bloomer - just in time to put it outdoors, if one cares to.
