Default Whoops, it followed me home...

I spotted this NoID the day before yesterday when I was roaming the streets (as you do...) and I left it! I was so very impressed with myself that I had to go and buy it yesterday as a congratulation gift...

I'll keep telling myself that it would have died there at the store considering it was standing in water, and this was at a professional florist's store! I'll re-pot it today since the medium is still sopping wet... I better check so there's no signs of the beginning of root rot.

I think there might be a chance to retrieve a possible ID since it comes from Pannekoek Orchideeën. I'm going to send them an email asking for a possible name.

I love the fact that this thread is in the same category as my "I'll never have a large orchid collection"-one. Oh, the irony!

Added a picture of it now that it has been re-potted. I'm counting on some bud blast and maybe a flower or two wilting due to the stress.

If I saw that and knew there was a chance to get an I'D, I would have bought it, as that is the only excuse I'll make to buy a NoID. You can definitely tell there is some pulcherimma and equestris in its near past, and goodness, I like it!!

It's amazing that I manage to get as many equestris hybrids as I have without even trying! It's no wonder that I like equestris as much as I do, since I bought Phals with it in their ancestry before I got bitten by the orchid bug.

This guy had three spikes while its three siblings "only" had two, so it was a given which one of them would follow me home. The colour is very intense and makes it stand out among the rest of the Phal crowd at home which I really like.

I hope it will enjoy its new home and I hope I'll get an ID on it as well.

Very lovely, but I see a hint of striping on the petals! I thought you didn't do stripes?

I've just gotten a reply to my email so it's no longer a NoID but a Phal. 'Tiny Doll'. Wee!

Oh, no! I have to go back with it, it's a stripy one!

Nah, I think I'll let it stay since the stripes aren't that prominent.

I hate to break it to you, but there is no Phalaenopsis registered with the name Tiny Doll, and the only resluts with that name was a Cattleya.

Many of the Phal. mass producers name their hybrids but don't register them. I have an un-registered one as well.

I see a gradual transition to liking stripes with this purchase! Ooh, the stubborn one has budged!
