Here is what I brought home from the Orchid show in Edmonton this past weekend.

I got 12 plants from various vendors! No more shows for me for a while! Here is the list of what I got:

There's pretty much nothing you can do if something you have to have presents itself; the only way I could suggest of walking out with a bootload of plants is to take in your pre-considered budget in cash, and leaving your credit card at home.

A great haul! Ecuagenera's list of things is ludicrously tempting, probably because things that grow down there have a particular siren-song effect on me (not unlike south american fish species - it's a good thing I live in a very small house with a very old wooden floor, or there would be a lot more fish tanks around here). I think I've said it before, but the 2014 WOC savings fund may have to be a serious idea.

Wow you got a lot!!! Shows are dangerous dangerous places....
I got unlucky with the Ching Hua pre-order. The deadline is long gone, and I just found out this weekend that I WILL be going to the show in 3 weeks! So much for my Den! Hopefully they'll have some on the table.

Thanks for looking everyone! The masdies seemed super healthy lots of roots and no dead ones. I hope I can keep them that way. I'm a sucker for Miltoniopsis and this one is a gorgeous velvet looking deep colour with HUGE flowers and a new growth. I had been waiting and planning on a bulldog Paph. and it's just the markings I wanted. After my other Tolumnia recently bloomed, I was so enchanted, I knew I would get another. And the cattleya types I got were all pre-orders that I wanted, so much was planned but there were some impulse buys as well! It didn't help that a winter storm set in and I was forced to stay and attend the show for another day either!
