Default I'm off!

At last I've been able to book my trip to India so I'm off in two weeks for a three week break. This is a very overdue and much needed break that I am going to relish. Should I come across any wild orchid pics I will, of course, post them but climbing trees, or anything for that matter, will not be done! lol

Have lots of fun! What part of India will you be in? We were there a few years ago in the north and the southern part called Kerala. We sure enjoyed the food!

Thank you! I'm going back to Goa again. I've been there several times. I'm also going up to Agra to see the Taj and to Bangalore. Could live in India. Just adore it.

You're sort of going where we were. We were a little further south and east of Goa if I remember where it is correctly. But we did the 'golden triangle" I think it's called in the north. Saw the Taj and many other sights. Unfortunately we got really sick 5 days before our month long vacation ended. very rough trip home and it took months if not a year to get over it. But we were lucky it happened at the end of the holiday when we were staying put at a beach resort. If you travel enough it is bound to happen at some point so we just felt lucky we had never gotten sick anywhere else before.

Bon voyage!

I promised myself that my next visit I would go and see the Taj. The flights there cost peanuts lol. Yep, Kerala is south of Goa, next state down. May try there next year.

None of our flights to anywhere are cheap, never mind peanuts It's a major part of any trip, even within Canada.

I meant flights within India. I can fly from Goa to Agra for the price of a four hour bus trip here.

Oh, Ya we flew from the north to the south for pretty cheap. We have met lots of Europeans in our travels who pay a fraction of what we pay to fly anywhere tho.

Yes, there are huge differences in prices. The trouble with India is that it is so racist! I went to book a flight from Goa to Mumbai and there was a price for Indians and a price for whites. I protested and said that this was a racist policy and the young girl was so ashamed but there was nothing she could do. I had no choice other than book the flight. I'm having an Indian friend book out side-travels while I'm there so that should help. On the more nerve racking side, I'm going to Tahiti this year for a few weeks and the cost of the flights from where I live in Scotland to Paris and then on via LA to Papeete is horrific. One operator was charging £2,500. I'll swim for that price. lol
