So sorry to see that Marissa, and glad they are not too damaged.

It's probably worth putting some sort of cover over them on nights that might freeze even if the shade house is down. Cyms can cope with the cold better than some orchids though.

I feel for you, and I hope your plants survive the shock...Its a big surprise that California would have this freak weather...I always thought California is a safe warm place to grow orchids outdoors.

I assume that after you recover from the shock and have the time, you will investigate an alternative type of shade/greenhouse construction.
I know that after our terribly hot, dry summer and the loss of many thin leaved plants, I need to set up something to protect my plants better next summer.
But, as far as we can see, your plants do not look too bad.
