NEW CHIDS, and please ID one!!! Male
Default NEW CHIDS, and please ID one!!!

So I drove down to my local, VERY exclusive orchid grower. It's by appointment only. Ok just kidding I went to Lowe's. Haha! Anyhow, I picked up these 2. Cattleytonia Why Not (did this get reclassified?...yawn) has been on my wish list for some time, and this one was missing a tag but looks just like it to me! I know I have seen some other Catt hybrids that look similar to Why Not, but not quite it. Can anyone confirm if this is Ctna Why Not? The second one I got half off for being flowerless and a bit dried out. It is Vasco. (Ascda. Fuchs Gold x Vasco. Shigenori Yamanaka). I remember seeing it in bloom some time ago, small orange Ascda type blooms. When I got it, they had it in a bigger wooden basket with it's roots coiled up. I took it out of the wooden basket because I think it is unnecessary and bulky. It's nice for presentation in the store, and now I have a basket for another orchid! So for $15 I got a Vasco and a basket! I cleaned out some dried roots and 1 dead leaf, but I think it will bounce back quickly. Thanks for looking!

It is Cattleytonia Why Not. They're super easy to grow and bloom. Had them once.

Thanks, Bud. It's two plants, mamma and keiki. If you saw it up close you'd see all of the leaves are a bit shrively. But I think it will pop back with good watering.
