I still have a huge distrust of places that want my private information such as Facebook - which BTW, my account there was hacked the morning of and by late afternoon the transactions had begun. I'm not sure what they got off of Facebook that they needed, but I'm sure it was of the stops they made in collecting information on me, lol...

Well, if you go to thereapy shopping, please post pictures of the therapy for everyone!!!
OMG, through Facebook?!?
I would have never ever thought that it was that risky. Are you sure you didn't get taken to a fake page? I really wonder how they get card details, that's scary. Makes my problem seem like peanuts...

Anyway, today I ordered my therapeutic orchids! They only ship on mondays, so I won't get them until next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I ordered 3 replacement plants:
Podangis dactyloceras
Haraella odorata
Gastrochilus japonicus (mine's not dead yet, but even if it hangs on it'll take forever to recover)

And 2 'new' plants:
Dtps Kenneth Shubert x Phal violacea (aka, Purple Martin)
Masdevallia Copper Angel (temperature tolerant)

I completely agree with the above. Remember Christmas is coming and it is a nice time of year.
I am sure something good is in your future.

Gosh Camille, that's awful...all of it. Identity theft is so scary. It's a shame that your bank is handling things so badly. You've got the right idea about dumping them.

When I saw the title to your post, I said to myself, "There is no way that Camille is a bad momma to her babies. This has to be a joke." ...and it is. Only a very good mommy would feel such sorrow and regret for the loss of her plant babies.

Just know that anyone facing the same circumstances could have easily done the same thing. To err is human. You are a great orchid mommy and you need to forgive yourself.

I understand how you feel. I have never done what you have done, but I have forgotten to water a couple of my plants because I was attending to family emergencies. By the time that I got back, the plants were so desicated I had to throw them away. Sad to say, they were some really rare plants that I cannot find anywhere. I am sorry to hear about the fraud. That is horrible.

If you want, private message me and I can give you a source really close to me that has most of the plants that died on you for relatively cheap. The haraella retrocalla are even in bloom, some with two spikes. I nkow that he has the biloba and possibly the podangis. I know that he has a lot of aerangis, so he probably has what you want. Hope you find new plants and happy growing.

Thanks for the offer Chris, but I live on the other side of the pond, all the way over in the Netherlands. I have some replacements (Podangis and Haraella, and 2 other plants) on the way right now. With christmas coming up, I can't afford to replace everything at once, so hopefully another order will follow in January.

On the good side, the Gastrochilus seems to be recovering somewhat. I took it off the mount and potted it up, and with the more constant moisture it's really perking up. Now it needs to get some new roots started, there are only 2 good ones left.
