I realise orchid vendors can charge what they feel is the right price, for them, but do you think these prices reflect any degree of accuracy on the orchid circuit? Are these prices what I should expect to pay for these below?
Cattleya lueddemanniana S/A var. Stanley FCC/RHS 680.00€
Cattleya lueddemanniana var C.F. FCC/SOEM 430.00€
Cattleya lueddemanniana var. Maruja FCC/SVCN 490.00€
Cattleya jenmani alba var. Fuchs Snow FCC/AOS 430.00€
These are highly awarded plants that probably have excellent breeding potential. Assuming they have never been cloned and only 1 or 2 of each is being made available, then the prices do not seem excessive.
Don't know about european prices, but-
I found a division of C. lueddemaniana 'Stanley's' for $250 (USD) (Chadwick Orchids)
C. jenmanii var. alba 'Fuch's Snow' has, I believe, been mericloned in the past.
At those prices, they would have to be divisions of the original plant, and not mericlones.
